2010-11 Sonoma County Superior Court Grand Jury Report

  • This report was created in 2011 and first outlined the problem Declining enrollment would put on our school systems. It recommended that district aggressively pursue district consolidation to reduce administrative overhead and better be able to prepare for declining enrollment. District were required to respond to their findings.

  • School Districts’ Response to the Report

    • Districts responded almost uniformly in rejecting the Grand Jury’s Findings. Many of these districts that vehemently denied declining enrollment or the prospect of closing schools have since closed schools. This gives a sense of how districts are likely to respond to these sort of critiques.

SRCS School District Consolidation Materials 2021-2024

  • Financial Feasibility Study- Phase 1

    • Study outlining three possible scenarios for school district consolidation. Scenario 2 is of special important to Stronger Together because it points to financial benefit that can be gained if districts are remade. We are more interested in a 3 district TK-12 model as we think it will optimize both funding and keep districts at an optimal mid size.

  • Unification Feasibility Study- Phase 2

    • The second study that was requested after SRCS choose Scenario 1 in the above study. This study is important because it gives an idea of the analysis that any Unification proposal will need to clear. Reminder, the Scenario 1 that SRCS choose was the most financially disastrous of the scenarios.
